Health and Safety Program at YXL

Yangon Xpress Logistics (YXL) has created the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for health and safety programs for all employees and also strictly complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Law (Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Law No. 8/2019).

YXL has since established implemented the occupational safety and health matters effectively in all our operation areas, to lessen and mitigate occurrence of occupational accidents and occupational diseases. Further, YXL pursues to improve the productivity and health of Workers by preventing the occurrence of
occupational accidents and occupational diseases for their safety; and create workplaces that are safe and good for health. YXL appointed the person In-charge for occupational safety and health to closely supervise safety and health of Workers in line with logistics and transportation industry.

Furthermore, since April 2020, Yangon Xpress Logistics (YXL) has created the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for COVID 19 prevention.If anyone is suspected of having fever, cough, shortness of breath, to call persons in-charge immediately; If any workers see the suspect on health issue and irregular health condition on their side, they are to immediately contact to the hotline numbers provided in the company and isolate suspected person immediately.
During the Covid -19, It is prohibited to organize gathering or arrange public meeting or any event.  COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.

Coronavirus symptoms

-  Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms -  Stay at home if you have either:                                   -  A high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back                                                                       - A  new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly                                             -  Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.

How long to stay at Home

-  If you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days        -  If you live with other people,they should stay at home for 14 days from the day, the first person got symptoms if you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days. If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.                                                         -  How to avoid catching and spreading coronavirus (social distancing)                                                               -   Everyone should do what they can to stop coronavirus spreading

It is particularly important for people who: are 70 or over have a long-term condition are pregnant have a weakened immune system

Do

• wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds

• always wash your hands when you get home or into work

• use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water are not available

• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when

you cough or sneeze

• put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

• avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus

• only travel on public transport if you need to -if Possible, Avoid

• work from home if you can

• avoid social activities, such as going to pubs, restaurants, theatres and

cinemas

• avoid events with large groups of people

Don't

• do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are not clean

• do not have visitors to your home, including friends and family

 Yangon Xpress Logistics (YXL) strictly follow the Occupational Health and Safety Law, 2019 (OHSL) enacted by Myanmar government and believes that it is imperative for all organizations to improve health and safety in the workplace, and rigorously adopt a systematic approach to health and safety protocols rather than creating a reactive health and safety culture.

At YXL, we clearly define the responsibilities of employers and employees. YXL appointed occupational health and safety officers and form occupational health and safety committee (OHSC).  Our obligations are to regularly conduct risk assessments on the use of equipment and machinery, arranging medical checkups by a certified doctor for workers, enforcing the wearing of appropriate safety uniforms and equipment, and appointing station nurses in our workplaces. While on the other hand, we ensure that employees are to follow instructions of OHSL such as the use of machinery and equipment, forklifts, cars and container trucks and the wearing of safety uniforms.
